We collect information that you provide to us, which includes information you put into forms on our site, any correspondence we have and details of any transactions you carry out on our site. These data are only collected and processed for the purpose of providing to you our proofreading and editing service.
Who can access your data
We ensure that access to personal data is strictly limited to employees who need it to be able to provide the requested proofreading and editing services. All data that we retain are held under a strict policy of confidentiality and never disclosed to a third party. All employees have signed a confidentiality agreement under the laws of England and Wales.
Data storage
All personal data, the original document that you submitted to us and the versions we returned with our suggestions are stored on a secure server as required by law. We automatically delete this information after one year.
Your rights
You have the right to view, change or erase personal data held by us. Please just email us at info@capitalproofreading.com with the title GDPR. You can withdraw your permission or your data to be processed by us at any time. If you withdraw permission for us to process your data after we have started processing an order, we will cancel the order, return to you your document with any work we have completed so far and refund to you any fees paid, less a reasonable amount in respect of the work done. There is a one-year liability for raising a complaint in relation to the proofreading service provided and this period of liability will begin from the date the payment is made. If you require the original and proofread files to be deleted from our secure server during this one-year liability period, all claims for a refund or claims in relation to the quality of the proofreading services provided will be invalidated (because we will no longer have the files that are being complained about). If you wish to raise a complaint regarding the proofreading service provided, please email your complaint details to info@capitalproofreading.com with the title Complaint. To submit a complaint in relation to compliance with the EU’s General Data Protection Regulation (2018) you can send a request to the UK’s Information Commissioner’s Office at the following address https://ico.org.uk/global/contact-us/.
