Keeping our New Year's resolution


Our New Year’s resolution was to start a blog to share our advice and thoughts with our customers. Well, we are a little late in getting started, but here it is. Indeed, as it is now almost Chinese New Year, and the Year of the Tiger no less, we thought that our first blog would be about using words and concepts from other languages when writing essays in English, using some examples from Chinese.


We would like to focus on three cases that have the potential to cause confusion: brand names, non-English words (especially those that express ideas which are difficult to convey in English) and government policies.
